About the Craftsman

My name is Alexander Filippov, and craftsmanship has been part of my life from the very beginning. I grew up surrounded by metalwork, spending my childhood in my father’s workshop and learning the value of patience, precision, and attention to detail. Later, at the age of eighteen, I began working with my uncle, who specialized in the restoration of historic churches. Working alongside experienced craftsmen gave me knowledge and skills that can only be gained through years of hands-on practice.

Over time, I developed my own approach to metalworking and founded my own company, creating custom sheet metal products, ventilation systems, and architectural metal structures. In 2022, I moved to the United States, where I continued my journey as a craftsman and opened my own workshop. Today, I dedicate my work to creating unique handcrafted copper pieces that combine traditional techniques with thoughtful design.

For me, every project is an opportunity to create something meaningful. I do not believe in simply making another item — I believe in creating work that has character, purpose, and lasting value. Whether it is a copper chimney cap, a planter, a fountain bowl, or a complex custom design, my goal is always the same: to deliver exceptional quality that I can personally be proud of.

The most important part of my work is the trust between the craftsman and the client. I take time to understand each customer’s vision, discuss ideas, and find the best solution together. When a finished piece leaves my workshop, I want to know that every detail was made with care and that the client receives something truly special.

About the Workshop

My workshop specializes in handcrafted copper creations made with traditional metalworking techniques and a strong focus on quality. Copper is a unique material — durable, flexible, and naturally beautiful. Unlike manufactured products that lose their character over time, copper develops a rich natural patina that makes each piece even more distinctive as the years pass.

Every project begins with an idea and a conversation. I work closely with clients to understand their needs, explore design possibilities, and create a piece that fits their space and vision. Whether the project is a custom architectural element, a decorative feature, or a completely unique commission, every detail is carefully considered before the work begins.

Handcrafting copper requires experience, precision, and respect for the material. Many of my projects involve complex shaping, custom fabrication, and techniques developed through years of practice. I believe that true craftsmanship is found not only in the final appearance but also in the strength, durability, and quality hidden in every detail.

My goal is to create copper pieces that become part of the places they belong to — not temporary decorations, but lasting works that grow more beautiful with time. Each item leaving my workshop carries the story of the hands that created it, the attention invested in every step, and the passion for a craft that has been passed down through generations.

I invite you to explore my collection of handcrafted copper creations and discover pieces designed for homes, gardens, and architectural spaces. Many of my works are available directly through this website, and selected pieces can also be found on my Etsy shop. If you have a unique idea or a custom project in mind, I would be happy to discuss how we can bring it to life together.
